Slings

Whether rope, chain or belts, without them practically no lifting process can take place. The connection between crane and load that has to hold. Always! Special attention must be paid to them for the safety of everyone involved.

• The maximum permissible load capacity, which must not be exceeded, is indicated on all slings.
• Components according to DIN EN 818 are marked with the nominal size and quality class.
• The suitability of the slings for the respective application must be checked carefully.

The slings to be tested are: Sling chains, sling ropes, round slings and lifting straps as well as combinations between individual products.

Load handling attachment

Load handling attachments are used when space and heights are limited or cramped. Like cranes and slings, they must also be inspected regularly.

• All cranes, including load handling attachments, must be maintained regularly.
• The crane operator is responsible for maintenance.
• Maintenance must be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

The load handling attachments to be tested are: Load cross beams, grabs, lifting clamps and lifting magnets.

Lifting equipment

Universal helpers for various tasks. Whether manual or electric, they often perform their duties safely and reliably for decades. It is particularly important that the load brake is checked regularly to ensure that the work remains safe.

The lifting equipment to be tested is: Ratchet and pulley blocks, electric chain hoists, wire rope hoists.

Lashing equipment

Since the new Road Traffic Regulations (VRV) came into force, the requirements for correct load securing have become even more comprehensive. The only responsibility for this lies with the driver.

• The maximum permissible prestressing force must be visible on all lashing devices.
• If this information is no longer visible, the lashing must be removed from circulation.
• Damaged lashings must not be reused.

The lashings to be tested are: Lashing straps, lashing chains and ratchet tensioners.

Personal protective equipment against falls from a height (PPE)

In the final analysis, these systems are literally life insurance for the employee. Accordingly, these systems must be stored carefully and checked regularly.

• The useful life of all PPE materials can be found in the specifications of the respective manufacturer.
• In the event of visible damage or a fall, the material must be taken out of circulation immediately and checked by a specialist.

The work equipment to be tested is: Safety harnesses, lanyards, fall arresters & safety helmets.

• In the event of visible damage or a fall, the material must be taken out of circulation immediately and checked by a specialist.
